A Bucket List Moment Worth the Wait
Last month, I shared that I would be checking off items on a bucket list item. This includes attending a lantern festival. I am happy to report that three days after my 52nd birthday, bucket item checked!
Thanks, Water Lantern Festival for showing me the lights. I’ll be back next year!

Discovering Buffalo’s Hidden Gem
This gift came care of Water Lantern Festival who hosted my family down at the Buffalo Outer Harbor. This was a double win for us as we had no idea of this local gem but I shall share more about that. Let’s just say that our Summer of Fun discovering Western New York is fully on.
A Perfect Family Day Outdoors
It was a lovely family experience. Come prepared for a day on the lawn. Food trucks abound. They ranged from ice cream and funnel cakes to asian fusion street tacos! I really love Buffalo.
More than a piece of paper
We were given bags with the lantern kits that even included playing cards, furthering the picnic feel. We received deluxe tickets that included a mandala throw which created a nice place to sit.
More Than Just a Lantern
We then set about making the lantern. It is a very individual process. Some draw pictures. Some write messages to those who have passed. It can be serious. It can be silly. It can be whatever you want.
For me, I threw my pebble into the sea.

Lighting Up the Night
At dusk, we launched.
Light up your world
The festival travels around the country, hosting events at beautiful water sources nationwide. An environmentally driven organization, they support water.org and look to remind attendees of the value of these water sources.
